I have 4GB and things are smooth as glass for me, I average 60 fps in lockon if I don't cap the framerate.
What is your processor like, Sawa? |

@ Beaker:
I have an 3,2 GhZ dual core.
What is your processor and graphic card?
@ Sniper:
Thanks for the advise. I already configurated, that the aero design and other performance eating tools will be switched of, while Lock On is running. @ Rhino:
Might be a good try worth. For now, im trying an faster graphics card. If that wont do, then i will go for more ram.
Thanks for the help, guys.

I'm running a 3.0Ghz Core 2 Duo, 4GB of DDR2 RAM, and 2x 768MB Nvidia 8800GTX SC graphics cards in SLI. LO is all about processor though and yours sounds perfect for the job.

Ok, i updated my pc and swaped my 9800 with an 260 GTX and i added 4 GB ram.
No change on the FPS in Lock On. So to put together, i have 3,2 GhZ dual core 8 GB ram 260 GTX 900 mb I have these graphic settings: http://sawamura.de/graphics.cfg In average, i still have 20 - 30 fps less than i had in XP. ![]() Edited by Sawamura - 05 March 2010 at 12:48 |

Make sure your lock-on is running on a Single core. That is really the only thing I can guess.

Already did that, no change. I just found out, while my Lock On is running, i have 100 % usage of the CPU core, i selected. So its maybe a problem with the core(s). ![]() |

That is really odd Sawa, Win 7 has seemed to add a few frames for everyone I know! Try doing some 'scientific' tests; eliminate possible problems one at a time. Turn your settings all the way down and see if that fixes it, then try checking background processes and adjusting your video card, etc.

Ok, i just finished some testing.
I left all LO settings the same. I set all Nvidia graphic settings(AA and such) to low and performance. Only a change of ~2 fps. So i guess its not the graphics card. ---------- I put all Nvidia graphic settings to my defaults (8 AA, 8 Anti strope and such) and set all LO graphic settings to low. Fps increase of plenty. But still, the core, LO is using has an usage of 100 % all the time, while LO is running. Im getting out of ideas, what i could try to get it running properly on W7. |

I know its a stretch but you could trying running a hard-disk de-fragment.
Also, make sure all your system drivers are current. Did you upgrade to Win7 without re-formatting or re-installing software? If so that could possibly be affecting your performance. |

Drivers are all the newest.
I did format the HD before installing W7. After testing plenty of possibilities i think i came to an conclusion. An change from Vista to W7 increases performance and gives you some fps. An change from XP to W7 decreases performance and you have less fps. If there is someone, who changed from XP to W7 and has no fps drop or even an increase, please tell me, how you did that. ![]() @ Beaker, can you maybe ask around, from what they changed to W7? That would help. Thanks a lot. Edited by Sawamura - 07 March 2010 at 09:29 |
